I found AAGF while my son was in the NICU and was able to connect with parents who had experience with what we were dealing with. After my son was discharged, home, and thriving, I became a parent support volunteer so that I could tell parents our story, hopefully showing that sometimes, a diagnosis of gastroschisis is a bump in the road. I wanted to be more involved with AAGF after seeing what wonderful things the organization has done, and how they have offered support for so many.
