Hi! My name is Terrill, I live in Savannah Georgia and I am a teacher by trade and a mom to two boys Jackson, 8, and our Gastroschisis warrior Silas who is 3. We found out at 15 weeks that “something wasn’t right” with Silas and we were told to terminate the pregnancy a few weeks later after confirmation of the Gastroschisis. I knew that couldn’t be it for my son, I had to give him hope and myself hope so I reached out to Avery’s Angels and received an overwhelming amount of needed support. We sought a second opinion and Silas was born at 35 weeks 1 day; he received closure surgery on day 6 and was in the NICU for 23 days. Avery’s Angels brought me so much hope during the most difficult time in my life and it was so comforting to know that I wasn’t alone in this journey. I am so excited to be joining the Avery’s Angels team to give back to this wonderful foundation and most importantly giving these families the support they need.
