Hi, my name is Gracie Jordan.  I am currently enrolled in college and working towards my associates degree in Criminal Justice. I  became a mother at the age of 17, in November of 2018 when my daughter Josephina was born. Becoming a mother so young was hard, but adding on my daughter’s diagnosis was even harder. I am so glad that my boyfriend Lalo and I had Avery’s Angels there when we had questions and needed support. My pregnancy was a hard one, as Josephina was diagnosed with Intrauterine Growth Restriction as well as Gastroschisis. There were times where doctors did not really have much faith, but Josephina showed just how much of a warrior she really is. At 36 weeks and 0 days gestation, Josephina failed one of our weekly NST’s. I had an emergency cesarean section and she was in the NICU for 78 days. Her first year she had two surgeries and many hospital stays. Today, she is a wild toddler who is healthy despite the fact that she needs tube feeds. I am excited to be there for other families and help them during their journey in any way I can!
