My name is Erin Werner.  My son Leo was born on 1/30/14 with complicated gastroschisis.  Not only were his intestines out, but they were not all connected.  In all, Leo had seven surgeries and spent 7 months and eleven days in the Cincinnati Children’s NICU.  Leo passed away suddenly and unexpectedly three days after his last surgery, on 9/11/14.  He will always be my angel…forever my baby boy.  I am so thrilled to be a part of Avery’s Angels Gastroschisis Foundation as an Ohio co-hub leader.  I am very excited to give back to an organization that has given so much to me!
