My Gastroschisis story started in early 2014 when my daughter was born with an undiagnosed case of Gastroschisis. I like most had never heard of Gastroschisis but soon after her birth I was contacted by the WV HUB leader at that time through a mutual friend. I found support, education, a friend and a community to help me through the most difficult time in my life. It was so comforting knowing we were not alone and to have others who walked the path before us. In 2015, we moved to Alabama and there was no HUB leader for this state. After getting settled into our new home, I wanted to get involved again. I am honored to help support families and help fund this organization.
I have been in Corporate sales in 16 years in the technology and telecom sector. I have spent countless hours in my communities volunteering, from being a Board member for rural health organizations to clean-ups after flooding. Currently, my life also involves being a mother and serving in our church. When there is spare time I love riding motorcycles, running, the beach, water parks, camping, the zoo and our favorite is our annual Disney vacation!
It is truly such an honor to use my knowledge, skills, understanding and faith to help serve AAGF and support our Gastroschisis family!
