November 12, 2013 my husband and I were given the news that our baby had a birth defect. I was just 12 weeks pregnant when we found out that Sloane had gastroschisis, my life changed forever that day but for the better. Sloane was born at 36 weeks gestation due to being in distress and was the true definition of a warrior. He showed me what it meant to fight and how to look at things differently. He is striving and doing amazing and I now am very thankful for the amazing gastroshisis family that we have gained and cherish.
