Please join us May 27, 2017 for the 3rd annual Superhero Run for Belly Buttons to support Gastroschisis awareness and Avery’s Angels Gastroschisis Foundation.

EVENT HAS ENDED

1 in every 2000 babies is born with Gastroschisis. A portion of the intestines, as well as stomach and other internal organs are on the outside of the body, protruding through a hole in the abdominal wall. The cause of the defect is currently unknown. Avery’s Angels provides support to the families of babies born with this condition and is the only organization in the US to do so.

All of these babies lose thier belly button in the course of the surgical repair, and are little superheroes from birth, fighting to survive and grow.
